INFORMATION
Hello everyone, I am Michael Osborne a retired combat veteran. I served 8 years in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer. I have always had a love for art and photography, but it was not until recently that it has become a true passion. I love all forms of photography and continue to learn new things everyday. I am at a turning point in my life where I feel that photography is something that I want to make more than a hobby. I enjoy the comments that I have received on here and feel that I learn something from each one, so please feel free to leave your comments. I am a big boy and if you have criticism please express it, no two people view things the same. Therefore, we all view things differently and I want to hear your perspectives as well.

osbornefishin: Has anyone use a Nikon Nikkor 55-200mm Zoom Lens f/4-5.6G, IF-ED, AF-S, DX (#2166) on a Nikon D3100? I have read good reviews and looking for a relatively inexpensive lens with telephoto capabilities.

    Echo7: The DX Range is good. I have a 18-55, 28-80 & 70-240

The only problem is with a D31000. It doesnt have Image Stabilization. So you gotta have a very steady hand & use quick exposures. At f4.5 shouldnt pose much of a problem. DX tend to feature "Silnet Motors"...not the fastest at focusing...So i'd suggest using manual focusing. I use it every single shot these days. Much better.

    osbornefishin: Echo,
Thanks for the comments. I have not had a problem with the D3100 and camera shake. It claims that the VR on the lens helps but I rarely use it. I usually use auto focus unless I am trying to get a specific focal point in a Still or Landscape photo. You need to teach me to use Photoshop effects like a Ninja.
