INFORMATION
Reuven Azachi was born in Baghdad. He spent his childhood and youth in Israel and later on immigrated to the USA where he completed his graduate studies in Anthropology at Columbia University. His keen interest in art led him to design jewelry for which he received acclaim in the industry. Recently he lived in China for three years and managed the product development of a leading Mainland jewelry company, which catered primarily to QVC USA.

Reuven's interest in photography as a profession started in 2007. Since then he has been creating surreal collages in which there is always an inherent element of surprise as objects, people , landscapes are assembled in a way that is non-rational, yet highly charged with emotions and iridescent melancholy. His collage work continuously explores the possibilities and graphic juxtapositions of elements, shapes, colors and their interplay with photography. Reuven's collages amplify not only the details of his work, but also our emotional insight into it..

Although his art may be construed to have symbolic meaning, Reuven believes that his art is anti-symbolic. "What count", he says, "is the very unadulterated emotional encounter between the viewer and the art form and not the search for meaning or content."
