In 2007 I started to focus on art as something of my own creativity rather then just lines on a piece of paper. For the longest of time I've been stuck on getting away from drawing just cartoon type animals. I hope that I can continue to develop and improve on my art.

Finally I am out for spring break!! 14 days of freedom for me thank God. Now to finally focus on some art :D

School is slowly starting to have it's toll on me. It's gotten to the point where it's hard to find solace in art and music. Trying to produce a piece of work or trying to convey what's on my mind is becoming more and more harder to do. It feels more like something that I have to do rather than something that comes freely. I would love to just have a break from school. A long one. But after highschool, I have to jump the gun and head off to Community College. Then after that, University. 6 more years of my life dedicated to schooling. Honestly in some cases, I wish I was born in the era where one could make a decent living by being able to live a life too. Though I guess i'm not one to talk. Eh, I vent too much for my own good. But then again how is one suppose to react when throughout teenage years, people treat ya like a kid and then in the last tidbits, they go and expect you to make life decisions that will decide whether you will possibly have a decent life or a very hard one. I just hope that I'll be able to relax soon and be able to clear my mind and do some art that makes me feel released and happy. Time will only tell.

Wellp, went on a tour of the college today as well as the Fine Arts school... it was simply fabulous! Everything about the school is top notch. I truly cannot wait to start. I'll also be working on some more art work that I can include in my portfolio, especially since I could have the possibility of winning a scholarship for it. ^^

In today's world they say that trying to achieve a degree in art would foolish because an artist would not do well with today's economy. To those of you who have been artist for years now, what is your advice to young artists like me who are just now starting out? I am yet in college and I do want to make art my career. So some advice or info from you guys here on FanArtReview would be appreciated!! Thank you kindly.

Your love for art will be your reward, the livlyhood side of the profession will have its ups and downs. But when one seeks art for the sake of art, the rest often falls into place somehow. As I have looked over your postings I want to encourage you to keep pursuing your passion.

JenEasley : Hi! Thanks for welcoming me here! Well done on your dream of being an artist. I agree with some advice given above - definitely do art for yourself first and foremost. Don't worry about doing things that you think other people might like, because that can be tempting when you are trying to sell work. Your best work will always be the stuff that you are passionate about to start with, and along with lottttts of hard work and studying (anatomy, lighting, colour, life studies) that should give you success. It isn't easy to study, being lazy certainly IS easy. But that's the only way to achieve what you want, so good luck! :D

Busy Busy Busy I am! I have plenty of Art to do from people on DA. Though I won't spam my gallery here, I will be making more of the snow globe pictures like the one from ' In a Globe '. I was also thinking, as a token of being nice, I would take a few requests from people here if they want a character, person, or their own original character placed in a globe. A silly thing for me to do, but I just wanted to put it out there in case anyone wanted some free art XD

In some cases I wish we were allowed a link box so that we could share links :C I really was wanting to share a link with you all that I think many of you here would love to join for the holidays. But I will just go ahead and say it here. Deviant Art is holding a Holiday Card Project where people make home made cards, send them out and then the cards are distributed to hospitals around US and around the world to bring some holiday joy to the patients. I for one am going to join... so I thought that you all would like to join in this as well. But for those who do not read this, do not worry, i'll probably be doodling a little something so that I can share it with the rest of FanArtReview. And even if you are not into the Holiday spirit, you can at least still try to bring joy to someone who is not able to share their holiday with the people they love.

I am so so sorry for not being around my dear friends. My tablet pc was attacked by many viruses and things just spiraled out of control from there.... sadly the person that I sent the computer to only messed it up even more. As such I am now on another computer. Thankfully I had everything backed up and now I can hopefully start to getting back on track with my work.

School has started for me. I'm really apprehensive about Global Studies... it's done by distance learning and i'm already 3 days behind due to my school having difficulties with the technology... I'm nervous and I don't have a teacher to help me with the work... I hope I don't fail.
