Hi, my name is Gloria Stanley aka "Glo" as I am most often called by my closest friends.For as long as I can remember I have loved art. I can't imagine my life without it. Fact is,I wouldn't want to. I remember when I was very young watching my father doing oil paintings and drawings. I admired his talent so much. I wanted to be just like him. I came from a very musical background, and traveled and sang with my family for 18 years in our family band. Music has been a tremendous part of my life, but I became road weary and felt something was missing.It was a difficult choice for me because I had traveled so long with my family, but I knew I was doing the right thing by pursuing a career in art. I started my own business "Whimsical Creations". It has been so rewarding for me. I'm happy to be doing work that is fulfilling. I had a wonderful Birthday yesterday! My 40th! Time sure does fly! I was 34 when I first joined FAR. I also would like to say that my brother is cancer free and is a proud new grandfather to little Abigail Jolleen Stanley and I am so proud that she was born on my Birthday! I now am feeling like I'm old enough to know exactly what I want to do and I'm still young enough to do it! LOL! :) Have a great day everyone and be creative!

Just found out my brother has prostate cancer! What a blow! He is only 38! I can't believe this.... He is such a great guy! ;(

Gloria Stanley Brown : Thanks for the encouraging words. I'm praying and trying to be optimistic. He is in good physical condition otherwise, because he's in the Air Force. He will be having the davinci robotics surgery on the 14th. So I'm hoping for the very best for him. :)

corrinas creations : My father had prostate cancer and was diagnosed at the very acute stage. The medicine and technology has come along in leaps and bounds since then and it is nowhere near as bad a diagnosis as it used to be, you will be amazed what they can do nowadays. I know its easier said than done but stray strong and have faith, things are much better these days. My thoughts are with you all.

I was looking back at some of my older artwork in my portfolio and was thinking yuck! What could I ever have been thinking! The good news is that I think I'm gradually improving.

This Illustrator class I'm taking is hard. I think I've only scratched the surface with the possibilities it offers. It may be awhile before I post any work from it. Just posted my newest painting. I've been busy, and have many more to post in the future. I'm enjoying doing my artwork again. I've been away from it for the most part, over two years. That's a long time for me. It's great to be back on FAR and catching up with old friends. I've even made some new ones.
