INFORMATION

Alexemch is a Yorkshire woman born and bred and has always loved art. As a kid she could draw anything she fancied and at school they flattered her by asking her to do a white horse mural on the classroom wall. Time, as for all of us, moves on and she became a nurse for her career and eventually got married and had two daughters and when they were grown she started work again . In all this time she did no artwork at all because of lack of time and materials. When she was able to buy materials she started doing artwork again but only graphite drawings (they were the cheapest materials) and an art teacher where she worked at a local college saw her work and encouraged her to use different mediums so she tried pastel and immediately knew they were for her. Lots and lots (and lots) of practice drawings later she improved her technique and started to challenge herself to do faces which is more difficult as one has to achieve a likeness. She found that she loved using pastel for faces as they have such a wonderful transluscence for the 'skin' Moving on and she had been struggling with using watercolour for a few years but kept having a go and 'oh my' one day it just came to her and she did a nice watercolour of Horsten Forest which is her portfolio. Since then she has done many, many drawings many of them from her favourite TV series ever, Stargate SG1, just for her own pleasure. She has been on other art sites but they do not compare with this one which has excellent organisation and is an easy system to get to know and to negotiate.It also rewards one with great reviews of one's work and this is very motivating and encouraging. She now has 5 grandkids and 2 of them also have this god given ability to do nice artwork and they draw together often which is a joy. She has been very pleasantly surprised by all the Stargate SG1 fans on this site and apart from that has made many new 'friends' who, also being artists, she feel an affinity with. She thinks it was her lucky day when she found FAR and she is very happy here and will remain for as long as she does artwork. Thanks to all those who have been an inspiration and who have encouraged her and given her motivation, and for all the constructive criticism and great reviews she has recieved. That's all for now.

Alexemch: Haven't been too well for a couple of weeks. Have painful arthritis and every so often it rears it's painful head and becomes a bit unbearable. I love being on FAR and offering my artwork for review, hoping to get help and advice and to learn to be a better artist. Creating beautiful art is at the centre of my life and I could not exist without being able to do it. However there are times when I cannot get any done and I just had two weeks of that but hoping to do some this weekend. Thanks to all those who have helped me with good advice and wonderfully constructive reviews. I love looking at all the amazing art and photography on FAR and thanks to all those who post it on here. Bye for now.
