Self Portrait Contest Entry
I'm very uncomfortable with self portraits. I believe a photographer belongs behind the camera and how he looks shouldn't be of interest because only the artwork is. A portrait should not only show the outer Person but the inner as well. True it is rarely received but to try it is the goal. I'm working on it.
Since it is very difficult to create a portrait it is even more difficult to do a self portrait. We are humans and tend to show ourselves in the best light inside and out. Who doesn't want to look beautiful and who is able to reveal his own soul? I'm human but I tried to show as I am not as I want to be. Since I'm human I doubt that I did so but I tried.
The photo is a mirror shot and was taken when I were ask for a photo for a Bio. It was converted to sepia. The fuzzy- and graininess are intentional.
