Great horned owls are a large species of true owls that inhabits many parts of North and South America. These nocturnal avian hunters take a wide range of prey including mammals, other birds, reptiles and amphibians. In this article, you'll find a collection of great horned owl facts that will help you gain a deeper understanding of this intriguing owl species. FACT: Great horned owls occupy the most extensive range of any owl species. I believe this is of this species but am not sure. This was taken at a local gardens where they rescue animals and rehabilitate them but most will live out their lives in these cages due to mankinds insentivities. But they are kept alive and well thanks to volunteers. these babies were rescused after their mother was killed. They may grow to live normal lives if they do not have any injuries. They are the future hunters and breeders of the future generations of Owls.
