This alligator was right on the bank where we were walking. I got within feet of him. As you can see, his eyes were closed, but even so they can see fine. They know you are there and what it would take to get you if he really wanted to. This big guy had a blue fishing lure hanging out of his mouth. As Sange found out, they hang around the area where the fishing boats go out and wait for some tidbets. This one got the lure and all. they do not hurt the gators and will either fall out or disintergrate in time. I decided not to show the lure as I wanted to be natural.
