GEL PEN DRAWING Contest Entry
Sorry for that. It is not what I had in mind when I signed up for the contest; but I torn the tender in my right hand. My right is in a cast and will remain there for several more weeks. I tried to finish with my left; but gel pens are not brushes. All I did was ruin it; as you can see on the spots, smudges and the eye. So I post an inadequate image, because I find it unethical not to post when I signed up, taking the place away from someone else. The image is one of the first scratches. It is only a small part of a illustration to Tsar Saltan, a Opera by Nicolay Rimsky-Korsakov based on a poem by Alexander Pushkin written after several Slavic fairytales. The scratch above is a rendition of the swan princess, one of the main characters.
