This still life was executed using a combination of brush and palette knife. The palette knife provided sharp edging, the brushes represented the softness of the flower petals. The paint was pushed hard from the brush end into the canvas board to give an additional wispiness or non determinate edging. The greens were chosen to complement the reds and pinks thus giving the sense of depth. Fallen petals add to the sense of realism.
