This was made by manipulating two different photos and then combining them.
The first was of the butterfly, which I extracted from a photo I took in my garden two years ago. I saturated and sharpened this.
The second is the entire background of colors, shapes and swirls. The original photo was of a Lady Slipper flower I took several weeks ago. I used swirl and paintbrush techniqes (if I remember correctly) in Photoshop to turn the flower into a fantasy of color.
I then layered the butterfly over the seriously distorted Lady Slipper. In addition, I rotated the butterfly so that it appears to be emerging from it's cocoon of sorts into the cacaphony of color which is the world around us.
This is how I see the world - having never ending possibilities not only in photography but in our journey from life to death as well.
See with your heart - explore with your eyes.
