Magnolia grandiflora known also as Southern Magnolia or Bull Bay is a large tee with a natural range in the South-Eastern United States from Virginia south to central Florida and west to Texas and Oklahoma. The Tree is worldwide used as Ornamental plant. Many hybrids are known.
Magnolias are an ancient plant genus which includes about 210 species. It is older than bees and specialized to be pollinated by beetles. Fossils are dating back 95 to million years.
