People at Work Contest Entry
This was taken in 2013 around Thanksgiving when I was visiting my brother. We heard a helicopter that seemed to be hovering in one spot for a long time. My brother thought they might be working on the high tension wires about half a mile away. That was all the info I needed to grab my camera and head out the door. When I arrived at the site I discovered that's exactly what they were doing and I had arrived in time to get a few shots in. This was something I had never seen before nor have I since
Working on high tension wires in my opinion is dangerous enough, but this repairman was sitting on the edge of a helicopter. I know he had to have a safety harness, but still.... If your doing this kind of work you better have a REALLYGOOD pilot or both of you are going to get in trouble. The pilot was so so close to the wires and one slight dip of that helicopter could have been a disaster! Two guys both doing a dangerous job! I wouldn't want either of those jobs! WOW!
