It is a treat for me to see a red squirrel since I usually just see the grey ones.
The American Red Squirrel is one of three species of tree squirrels or pine squirrels.
The three species in North America are: Fox squirrels, Gray squirrels and Flying squirrels. The red squirrels are among the lineage that includes the flying squirrels.
This red squirrel is enjoying the seeds below a bird feeder.
