Flower or Weed???

by Susan F. M. T. Interested in this? Contact The Artist

Dandelion blooms can be found anywhere in my garden bringing colour to the darkest corners almost year round occasionally I dig them up but mostly in the lawn I let them flower & then mow them down.

The Dandelion Taraxacum officinale . Gets it's name from the shape of it's leaves said to resemble the teeth of a Lion that give it, it's name.in English a corruption of the French "dent de lion" Lion's teeth.
It's also known as "Piss en lit" "or Piss in the Bed!"
The young leaves can make a a tasty addition to salad & the dried ground roots is or was used as a substitute for Coffee.
