Common Bulbul

Bulbuls are found throughout sub-Saharan Africa in a myriad of different habitats such as woodlands, thickets, forest edges, mountain scrub, gardens and parks. Despite being social birds that travel in pairs and groups, the common bulbul are monogamous and very territorial. Males will viciously defend their territory from intruding males. They also engage in communal singing after feeding, singing for over two hours, often starting before dawn.
