Red moon rising

Ilha da Culatra, Portugal at a certain time of the year has a red moon. I walked out to the Atlantic side dunes hoping to capture the red moon. This was the result. I couldnt understand why the moon was white as it was red at the time and all the plant's on the dunes changed their shapes and colours when I came to print out the photo . The background became undefined whereas on the night all was clear.
