A Robin with Love on his Mind?

This Robin Erithacus rebecula did NOT fly away as I approached it outside in the garden...then I noticed it's mate below in the same tree (not seen in this picture). They had spent the morning flying around together not doing what European Robins usually do do when another Robin enter's their "Territory"---chase it off! I'm wondering is this mild weather, giving them Ideas about "Nesting"???? Susan
