Colors In Nature - Photography (a) Contest Entry
In the whole area there are one million people, and they tell us that we have one million trees on its seven hills, the lungs of Sheffield, from the steelworking days, when it was described as a hell on earth George Orwell on a visit in the thirties in his journal. Its hell now are massive numbers of career thieves, some 60% of the city, not smoke. We are also quite rich in parks, which are scattered all over the city. The one near Firth park seems to have more daf's planted than any other and it is always a joy to see them when they are in flower, even with the wind in their backs, we have strong winds here being close to the Pennines, and daughter from London never stays more than a day or two because of this constant wind. The daf's season is very short but lovely.
