Seascape Photo Contest Entry
I came upon this site while walking the beach with girlfriends. I was absolutely astonished at their size, their strength and the shape of them. I was told that these were once coral reefs! I have never seen real coral reefs before, not in the ocean, nor on land. They reminded me at once of the old cartoon The Flintstones. To me, they looked like giant pieces of prehistoric furniture. When the tide is high, the ocean comes spewing out of the empty spaces of the reef, creating spouts of water that compete with the surf.
