Seahorse

I recently visited SeaQuest in Roseville Minnesota. It's a place with exhibits of creatures ranging from deserts and rainforests to marine life. They even offer snorkeling in a 36,000 gallon exhibit filled with hundreds of fish, reef sharks and stingrays.

This guy here is a Seahorse in a small tank. The latin name for Seahorse is Hippocampus, which means Horse Caterpillar. Seahorses are considered fish since they live in water and breath through gills and have a swim bladder, but they do not have caudal fins.

Seahorses change colors during their courtship dance. The male Seahorse is the only male creature that goes through pregnancy. The female transfers her eggs to the male which he self-fertilizes in his pouch.
