The Sunflower Contest Entry
I saw this sunflower start as a tiny shoot. It's roots are in sand. Each week I passed by and it grew and grew. It was solo, no fellow plants anywhere near. About a week ago it was in its prime, huge and standing straight and proud. I was in a hurry and intended to take a photo but had no time. I went back today and this is how I found her. Leaning against a house wall. Her petals have withered but her seed pad is beautiful and seems to have a pattern. It has been extremely hot this week, may be that is why she went over so quickly.
