Under the Ocean - Art. Contest Entry

This is a Seahorse (Hippocampinae). Many in my area are caught in nets and are now an threatened species. Population fluctuations in the Ria Formosa area of Portugal has just recently put up posters warning of the danger to this pretty sea creature who unfortunately is thought to be an aphrodisiac and is much sought after in Chinese medicine. This was painted from one caught in the local Fisher nets.
