I was inspired to do this watercolour painting by the following expressive poem. After doing the painting I have used filters to enhance the light and coloured to get the desired effect. I obtained the secondary colours through washes.

'The scarlet sun slowly lowers behind the horizon,
it gives the sea colors that certainly thrill.
Sky shows a pallet of many hues,
casting shadows on oceans of red, yellow and blue.
Darkness coming, soon it.ll be night,
but sailors remember it's tomorrows delight.
