Flowing Water Art Contest Entry
Jesmond Dene is a beauty spot local to my home. At the bottom is a stream that meanders down to the River Tyne. In the Dene are many bolders and rocks and the stream forms into a waterfall which is deeper than the angle of the painting suggests. It falls into a pool where people swim in summer. Either side the water drains out into a series of tiny falls. The bridge is very old. Beside it is the ruins of an old water mill. The Dene was an ancient short cut in years gone by for workers, before good roads were built. It is quite a wild area now. It looks beautiful whatever season. This painting is Autumn time.
