While walking the boardwalks of a local nature preserve, I came upon this Cormorant perched on the railing of the wooden path. He gazed out over the protected wetlands, not paying attention to anything in particular, until he saw me approaching. Using my Canon EOS 60D and a 135-300 Canon lens, I shot him with every step as I drew near. No tripod or flash was used. It was a hot, sunny day, and his vibrant colors were fabulous, especially those aquamarine colored eyes. There were like crystals in the sun.
