One winter night I went out to our local Arboretum to shoot the winter light display. After a hour of shooting I felt I had mediocre results. I wanted to do something different hoping to get different result. I tried a technique called "zoom exposing". With a long exposure time of a second or more, I moved the focal distance ring on the camera while the shutter was open. It seemed to give an amazing display of lights, almost like a fireworks display.

The subject is a water lily creation using lights. But with the zoom exposing technique the lights just exploded in the abstract looking piece of art. I was pleased.
