Crayon and watercolor pen sketch done at night in the extreme dark during a fire and power cut off. Actually, I had no candles, no flashlight nothing; just the merest suggestion of light coming through an open door from outside. It was evening so I doubtfully selected the colors while there was still a suggestion of daylight. I did not know how well I had created what I did until the next day. It was very nerve wracking but gave me something to do....Thankfully crayon can be felt with the tips of the fingers. The frame and outer red background I later created in Adobe Illustrator. I think that due to my strange background growing up in isolated Baja Sur "at effect" of my doomsday parents who directed me to do a lot of projects at night away from the scorching heat helped developed a sense in the dark that I must still retain. My best guess anyway... These projects mostly involved pack trips to fetch water for "Camp." I tell myself that it is interesting what unlikely skills a human can develop under the right conditions...
