Butterflies Contest Entry
white tree nymph, rice paper butterfly
The white tree nymph is a butterfly belonging to the swallow-tail family.
When fully grown these butterflies have a wingspan measuring between 3.75" and 4.5". Slightly transparent and white, their wings have black veins. There are also black spots spread all over the wings, but mostly to be found along the outer edges of the front wings.
Their dispersal area extends over South East Asia (Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines and Taiwan) and the north of Australia.
Often kept in butterfly zoos, they can here reach an age of between 19 and 104 days.
