We have an abundance of land crabs here on the canal. They make their homes in the mud along the water's edge, but high up in the embankments. This gives them the perfect place to hide from predators and access to both the land and the canal. They especially love seawalls made from wood beams, because they are easy to climb, hang out, and offer more places to hide while hunting for food. The first place I always look for them is at the very end of our seawall. I took this shot looking down into the corner of the wall where it meets the water and an adjacent fence. Taken with my Canon EOS 60D and 70-135mm lens. No tripod, no flash.
