The Yucatan Jay [Cissilopha yucatanica] native to the Yucatan Peninsula is native to Southern Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras, but the only Blue Jay present at the Yucatan Peninsula. Their natural habitats are subtropical or tropical forests including Mangroves. They adapt also to plantations. The bird is approximately 12 inches [30 cm] long. Adults are black with blue wings and tail. [Peterson Field Guide 1987]
