Time tables problems! after I had been in England a couple of years or more, my dad asked me my time tables. I just didn't knw them. He got a piece of firewood and made me kneel on it under the window facing the wall. You can get up when you know them. I learnt them within an hour or so and gave maths tuition for years and years as well as teaching adult numeracy at College, all due to my dad. This was the day of black oven fireplaces, linos and chairs and a table rather than settees. ps NOT ABUSE.. strict discipline in hard situation.
