We are so fortunate to be able to visit the zoo - bookings have to be made to restrict numbers but it is a joy to have some normality in these strange days. Kimya the tallest of the trio has been at home in the zoo for 14 years and after her companion passed in 2020 they tried to put her onto transport and move to the Safari Park around 50km away. She was not having a bar of that so instead they bought one of the hand reared giraffe (Noelene 16 months) to keep her company. Six weeks ago another baby was born at the Safari Park but his mother rejected him so a decision was made to move Azizi to be hand reared. Love that we can see these magnificent animals up close and Azizi is coming on leaps and bounds and is now over 6ft in height.
