Flower Photos Contest Entry
On our property we have several trees of Plumeria, commonly called Frangipani. This one in particular is my favorite because of the multi-colored flowers. The other trees have either solid white flowers are solid yellow. The Plumeria Society of America lists 368 registered cultivars of Plumeria as of 2009 (per Wikipedia). They are known for their fragrance, which is very sweet (it naturally attracts ants, butterflies and hummingbirds, even though it yields no nectar) and are used for making leis in the Hawaiian islands. Shot with my Canon EOS 90D and macro lens. No flash, no tripod.
