I love shooting on overcast days - contrast unlimited. With E.V. metering at 0 the exposure time was 1/160, way to slow. I didn't want to open up to f/4 because focus would be soft in some key areas. To get a faster exposure I adjusted the E.V. meter to -1.5 that allowed an exposure of 1/800, a five fold improvement. Yes that made a dark image but in Postprocessing I upped the exposure by only +.8.
