One sunny afternoon, with nothing much else to do I decided the time was right to try out some ideas I had for shooting bright flower color in bright sunshine. While packing my bag I thought "What better light reflecting flower than the Pink Rhododendron as the subject for today's yard safari?" I located a Rhodo with an abundance of blossoms (More blossoms close together more diffuse light) taking good light. I was playing with WB Control, working a Kelvin Scale from 5000K - 7200K, when out of nowhere this Female dropped in on a blossom in the same cluster as I. Red Alert initiate Plan B - Shoot the opportunity!. The female may be yellow or black. Females have a splash of iridescent blue wash on their tales, while males do not. Normally the females yellow color appears more pale than dark like the male. In this instance she was between branches and in partial shadow so she appears darker. One third of the right wing is in direct sunlight and appears as a lighter shade of pale ... Bob P
