Just after a rain

Golden Hour Flower

The morning 'Golden Hour', my favorite time to work flowers especially right after an early shower. For this shoot I chose to use my old faithful manual 50mm f/1.4. In this shot due to dappled lighting there are small patches of bright illumination and a greater amount of shaded areas - Circular Polarizer. The polarizer reduced glare and color blow out in the bright patches and aided in bringing up the petals textures overall. I chose an f-stop that would give me the front 2/3rds in fine detail. This would put the petal in back of the stamens in soft focus and not competing with the stamens. It was a fun morning.
