Cleo, I've got to tell you, it took me a moment to figure out what this was. When I read your notes and looked again, I went "oh my." LOL. So clear once I got it that it is a couple dancing or embracing. What a super idea. The fire is great for her hair and long flowing dress. I guess this is why they say that opposites attract. Even though they are not good for each other, they want to be together. Super idea, and good luck in the contest! :)

Thank you so much for your toughtful review and the wishes.
The may not good for each other, may both will varnish but there is something new born of their unison:life spending water.

Oh my goodness...lol. Cleo, I was so intent on looking at your painting, I didn't even think of water, duh. In that case; double-super-clever idea!!!

This is very interesting and unique i would say, i mean the human form, the white is little distracting in my point of view, some dull color would have balanced it, now this one is hitting right on the eyes, if you compare with other half. I like the colors and the touch of white outline. Very interesting, all the best for the contest.

Hmmm. I wished I would have read that earlier but we was on the travel. We are just back home at the Yucatan.
I didn't realised that the white could to much. There is not much what I could do but may some transparent blue like Glacier ice. I had the blue reserved for the melt water. I can't use any other color but white and transparent blue since it symbolized snow and ice.

What a creative and original piece of digital art. The fire and the ice are very clear, with good detail and great color harmony. The piece is well composed, and contains much story telling ability.

You have accomplished a nice piece of digital art for the entry. I do like the lines of figure. Seem to be changing form right before the viewers eyes. Great colors to give impact to your subject. Good choice of dark background, makes your subject stand out. Good Luck in contest! Eleanor

Now, I really like this and the title is perfect. She looks like she is indeed all aflame and the story I read is: "Will he put out the fire?" Question: How does one digitally paint on canvas? At any rate, this is a terrific viewing. Thanks for sharing. -mia

Thank you Mia, I like your questions.
I don't think that he will put out her fire but she will melt the ice. Doe you see him sweat, the water running down? He is already melting.
The canvas is not a real canvas but a digital one. It comes with most of the paint programs. It is on the computer and you use the digital paintbrushes on it. There are so many paint brushes and colors and textures as in reality. You just chose from them and the rest is very similar to traditional painting. You just use the mouse instead holding a brush in your hand.

What a fabulous digital painting! It's so delicate. I love the colors with the predominant black. It adds intrigue. Then, the red color, well it looks like a flame conveys the passion inside! It's nicely done and it's very pleased to look at Cleo! Very well done!!

Thank you for sharing

Hi my teacher Cleo. I rarely review this kind of work you know that and why. But this, I look at it and before reading your story about I had already seen the couple immediately and my thought was "Beautiful"!. Colors, lines (the symmetry of their arms ad black parts) the mixed "fire" colors of her dress is fantastic! I was imagining me there LOL..LOL a confidence: I like so much dancing. Very nice.

Very unique composition here. I like the title as it matches this well. the dark background helps the red and the bit of white stand out nicely. Good job working with the digital image for this and the PSP.

This looks just like a Fritz shoulder painting he used the same subject and style but you have captured a strong subject and I like the composition especially the white and red against the black. Good luck

How do they say it ? ..."Any resemblance with other artwork is coincidental."
I'm honored to be compered to Fritz Scholder. I can't hope to reach his popularity or the controversy he inflicted. Truth I would love to do so. Both especially the controversy.
Anyway, thank you so much for your generous review.

Cleo, this is a very creative and interesting works. I like the theme and the way you have rendered the image. The form has a beautiful flow, very smooth and with gentle swaying lines. The color and composition certainly show the lines of a couple passionately dancing together. The black background and partially silhouetted figures introduce an air of mystery and intrigue. Good luck in the contest. Russ
