Every square inch a winner!
Well deserved award!

Verdant overtone!
Vanishing viewpoint.
Diminishing perspective.
Cool reflections!

Great framing.
Soft impasto textures.

Thanks for sharing...

I am so delighted you won the contest, great green contrasts, I can just see the river flowing downstream on it's way to a memorable summer day.

A beautiful scene that is well composed. I love the brush technique, especially in the tree and bushes along the water's edge. The colors are natural and the ducks are a nice touch.

Hi Suzanne, I can see why you won the green contest. There is lovely serenity within your image. I'm not sure but it looks like you have some kayakers in the image. I wouldn't mind floating down this river. Very Nice Job! :o) Nancy

Many thanks, Charles, for your very nice review. I decided to revive this from 2011 to show that I can do other types of painting than the abstracts I've been doing lately! Suzanne

This is it your eye for nature always turns the most simple places into something extraordinary and beautiful just by your light application you enhances a place - I love the view point from a bridge or boat looking in to the water way with the nice green borders

My favourite type of art, classical, representative and something I can emerse myself in. This is a beautiful scene. The colours are vibrant. The scale and depth well structured. Very well painted in oils. There is much detail to admire in your presentation with much skill on your part. Great feeling of texture and presence. A lovy landscape.

This is a lovely scene. Very peaceful. You did such a nice job with the detail of the trees. The water and sky look very realistic. The reflections look lovely.

Belated congratulations on the contest win. It was well deserved. The painting is realistic but does not look like a painting. I like that the brushstrokes are visible. I believe that it looks even better seen from a distance than on the computer screen. The colors are beautiful and cheerful. I like also your perspective how the river bends through the valley and covers the foreground. The reflections are intriguing. The water birds in the middle draw our eyes and attention. The painting is also well balanced and framed.
