LOL, now that's up close and personal, Willie! Love the isolation with the backdrop, the tight framing and rich detail of the molting plumage. Great rich colors in the beak.

Although his eyes are not balanced, everything else about this bird head is exceptional: the color, clarity, visual texture, perspective, point of interest etc. are outstanding.

You are right, she is having a bad hair day. I have to admit that I don't know which birds molt and which don't. I don't even know if all, or most birds molt. The close-up really is quite interesting. Her feathers look like a woman's hair that is being wrapped for some kind of coloring process. It just is really a funny look and I've never seen anything like it. Thanks for posting and the education.
