A very nice presentation. The coloring of the butterfly stands out well against the green background. Great DOF keeps a lot of the detail. Focus is very clear and crisp. Positioning in the frame holds the eye. Thanks for sharing.

Nice. The impact is in the colour and the sharpness of the butterfly's head. Good composition. I bet some reviewers wanted to see all the butterfly :) Nice background bokeh in a contrasting colour.

Wow, I'm super impressed with this shot! Focus is perfect right on the face of the butterfly, and I love the cropping to include the whole blurred out wing.. makes the view feel complete while the cut off lower wing doesn't bother me because it leads the eye in and adds to the dynamics of the composition. Focal depth extends quite a ways and I'm impressed that you managed to use an f/9.5 without boosting the ISO so high that the image is covered in grain. Really quite a masterful capture! Color of the butterfly contrasts really well with the green background and the blur is smooth, which is excellent. I find I'm not the biggest fan of the button bush flower, but it's not blown out or too obnoxiously out of focus, and is part of the scene (a very important part, in fact), that I guess I just have to accept it. In fact, it plays a really important role in the composition, as it anchors the shot and adds the mystery element to the story -- how many more blossoms are there to gather nectar from! Plus it adds depth to the shot. So great work, this is really fantastic!!

I usually have so many photos I get notified about to review I seldom have time to look at other stuff but this one stood out on the front page and I had to take a closer look.
