This is the ultimate macro shot! You can even see the individual hairs around his beak (didn't know they had that!) and almost whisker-like hairs around his chin. Amazing shot. I like the way the light frosts his feathers. Great capture, and certainly appropriate for the theme of the contest. Good luck!

Now that's a color red entry for sure. Awesome macro shot on the Male cardinal's eye.
Should do well i think, but there have been other good ones entered as well, so i guess, it's anyones guess. All the best to you as it's an awesome composition.

Fantastic detail and dept here. The eye is especially beautifully captured. I love the wet shine and the reflection and the fact that brown and black both show up nicely. Of course it is right on at the contest theme. Best luck.
