I love this cardinal! The red is so pretty and the photo is very close up and clear. I hardly see the male cardinals and they are so beautiful. You caught a great shot of this pretty bird! Good luck in the contest!

'Mr. Red.' What a beautiful shot of Mr. Red. Nature Photography at its best with lovely color, contrast and background complimenting the photograph. Well done.

Another pretty cardinal. Their bright red color makes for very nice pictures. Good composition and presentation. I like the blur on the background. I still have trouble with that.

Thank you so very much! A wide aperture causes a short depth of field. The subject in focus but the background is blurred

I believe you made the right choice in cropping to only show the head. the Contrast of the back round adds to the impact thru the negative space. I enjoyed it a lot. Thanks for sharing.

Cardinals are the hardest to get a nice crisp shot of and you did an outstanding job here. Amazing how much detail you captured in his eye. Great glint there as well. The bokeh makes Mr. Cardinal jump right off the page (almost 3D like). Really nicely done!

A huge WOW here! The complementary colors just jump out at me. The cardinal is one of my favorites (my home state bird) and you have caputed the essence! THe eye is so perfect and clear. Each little feather could be counted-super shot! jean

Amazing photo with marvelous detail and clarity. Fine focus on his eye and beak.

This looks like a fairly young cardinal because most of the older ones have their beaks all cracked around the edges.

Perfect framing and the background is great.

Great photo.
The green blurring pushes the bird forward so you can almost touch it.
The colors of the bird is so pure and clean.
The focus as well is pinpoint sharp.
Great work
