This is a nice shot of a heron landing upon her nest. The action seems frozen in time. The photograph has terrific contrast with the deep blue sky as the background. The angle of the shot is good. The focus is sharp.

Willie your 300mm was pushed to the limit with this shot, however it did come out quite well. Very good shutter speed. The movement of the Heron is stopped in action quite well. It looks as if he is just landed on the small tree. There is very good detail in the tips of his wings and the curvier of his neck. Bummer about his beak behind the branch, but it don't spoil the shot, just would have been nice to see it all. Very nice Willie.

This is a nice capture, and well placed within the frame. I know that when opportunities present themselves, we can't always help the existing conditions. But, this is so dark, you are loosing what it is you are trying to show. It maybe could be lightened in editing if there is any details in the darkness. But it is still a once in a lifetime type of capture.
