What a brilliant photograph ... really exceptional. I cannot possible ever begin to guess at the technicalities of a shot like this (I am a pure novice .. well, maybe not so pure!) but this would be the standard that I would strive to get to. Thank you so much for sharing. Fabulous photograph.

My favorite bird as I have a pair nesting in my back yard. I love to hear them sing in the morning. Feeding them helps capture these shots. Another great shot.

I love it. I do also have to agree that even though the male is so bright red its definetly the female with the prettier colors in flight. With the awsome camera techs shown and the way you have chosen to crop it to position her "peeking around the branch" displays exactly how shie this birds can be. YOur focus and the wicked color on the beak shows the strenght they have there. The details from the eye to the underlying orange in the feathers makes this a true keeper and winner in my books. I hope you have a great day

This is awesome that you could get such a beautiful close up of this cardinal. I like the way you see the seed in her beak. I like the way you have the green background. She really is a beautiful bird. I like the way you see the slight coloring in her feathers. An excellent and beautiful picture.

I think it is just wrong that the female does not look like the male. This is a great picture. The closeness of the bird's head is so focused and clear. The background color really adds to the beauty of the bird.
