A lovely exposure of this bird in soft ambient light. The colorful reflections of the trees add a lovely vibrance to the natural scene. I really do look forward to the day that you move away from the Square crop and start working with standard camera ratios. Thanks for sharing, look forward to seeing more.

Thank you so very much! I did not understand the crop very well until recently when I was getting some prints made. This is an old post. All the crops I do now is 18x24. I am still learning.

I almost said "another blue heron" photo, but this is one of the best because of the strong image from the bird and the full reflection. I love the background and the log as the horizon line. Great focus, good details and GREAT composition. Thanks for showing us a little different twist.

Another great shot of the blue heron, nice subtle fall colors in the background and the reflection in the water is perfect even though there are a few ripples which makes it look more realistic
