This is a terrific shot of this cute bird up close. The features of the bird is so sharp and clear as well as the sunflower seed in her mouth. Excellent shot! Good luck in the contest!

Stunning shot, extremely sharp focus, and i have to ask...what was your gear used for this ?. This would have to be one of the sharpest images i have seen on here, a simply fantastic shot in all areas.

I am using an Olympus E3 camera ISO 400 with a 70-300mm lens 250/sec f11 external flash set on ttl auto.

Your picture is so clear, top to bottom, showing all her haris, eye and the harder quality of her beak (and the sunflower seed) with great definition.
Good blurred backround.
green backround contrasts well with her bright colors.
nice angle and placement in the frame, with just a little space on the right.

I love close-ups like this. I can really see the details in the feathers. The colors are beautiful and the contrast is great. A nice look at something you don't usually see so close.

Excellent close-up of this beautiful lady. Love the feather details and the eye is amazing, only thing I find that detracts from this shot is the seed. Cardinals also have a beautiful feather crest on the head, would be nice to see it in the shot. Detail wise this is amazing though, very well done.
