You sure do have enough of them in the drawing. I like the horses better than this one. I guess because I just like horses better. The way you have so many of them and they just seem to blend together in places. Maybe it is the way the white points of color and the lighter points have been put in that make the colors look different. I like the right side better than the left side. There seems to be more definition to the bison on that side. Interesting that you did this one with markers rather than with pens or pencils. maybe that is what gives it that different coloring. I do like all the browns. An excellent work of art.

    Anne,

thank you for the rating and the high praise you & it gives the drawing.

The challenge was the creating the many shapes and then showing them in less details and still capturing the motion/ momentum of a stampede.I like the colors and the earth tone with the various shades of oranges and browns, the combination add depth and perspective to me.
I liked the results created by the limited pallet.

Thank you for your time in looking and writing your critique of my drawing it is very much appreciated on all counts.

There are so many reasons I love this work. I live in an area where these magnificent animals once roamed and there is a lot of work done reintroducing them into various refuges. I appreciate this beautiful, and I mean beautiful use of limited colour tones that truly capture the north american prairie as well as the animals themselves. Love this technique and can't imagine the time and effort to produce this work. I am fond of the format you have used to crunch down the space from the top and make it seem like these animals are stampeding right into my space.

Excellent skilled work as I can imagine the planning it takes to pull this off using this technique and maintaining lovely colors, effective depth, plenty of texture and lots of movement in your well framed composition. Well done. Kudos! JAKE

Amazing. I love the depth you have created by making the bison fade out the farther back the go. But what is amazing is that even with that fade out, all bison seem distinct within that distance. Shows off your great expertise with the style.

    shoregrass,

yes, that was one of the challenges in doing the piece, capturing the fade out.

You are one patient person. That's a lot of dots. As student of history, I can appreciate the great herds of bison that once roamed the plains of the United States. These wild and free animals helped support the Native Americans for centuries. We successfully wiped them out to almost extinction in a few decades. Thank you for the preserving the memories of these great animals.

Truly an extraordinary image doing in pointillist technique. Amazing work with significant detail. Colors are just beautiful, and it is a stunning work. Cannot begin to imagine how long it took to execute this work. Impressed with the use of markers. Excellent work!

Wow, I'm very impressed. I live close to a wildlife refuge and I've seen herds of buffalo, and I've seen on running, but never a herd. I'm really impressed at your method! Very good!

The wild west comes alive. I can feel the buffalo pounding there hoves on the dry ground. The whole panting has a dusty look to it. Exceelent
