GORGEOUS PICTURE! The B&W medium is what captured my eye. I think if this was in color it would have been quite so stunning. Great choice!

This is indeed a great shot of this fluffed up bird,and I think it looks very good in BW. I especially like the way the bird is posing and also the way the light is falling on it in such a lovely way. This makes it stand out even better from the background.
The photo is well focused showing clear and well defined details all over, and especially in the fine feathers. The exposure is very good and it is good distinctions between dark and light.
The cropping has worked well and the bird has got a good placement within the frame. This of course makes for a good and well balanced composition. Really a well taken bird shot, and I wish you luck with the contest.

A great choice for a black and white presentation as the textures of the plumage and the stump are the most important features. Great details and excellent tonal range. Good luck in the contest.

Oh man, this is super. How original and well executed. Every sharp detail, the feathers and that eye make for a very special picture. I might wish for a smidge more space at the top, but this will do nicely.
