This sure fits the bill for the contest but it is so eye catching and lovely...black and white for a sunset or sunrise seems like such an odd choice but it really allows you to see the wonderful textures otherwise missed from the distraction of the glorious colors of such an event. Overall nice work!

Yes, I agree! I would love to see the colour version. The scene is quite fascinating. Pity you do not give the location. I like your composition and exposure, but the icing on the cake is the sapling gently curving round and down. Good work!

Very nice black and white shot of this sunset. The sky looks ominous. Great clarity and lighting. Nicely framed with great visual impact. Well done. ~Alveria

The setting for this presentation is really good with a beautiful sky captured in black and white with the perspective for distance particularly well composed as the clouds permeate from the edges towards the far horizon. The foreground is nicely focused

I agree that this had to be a most magnificent sight before the color was taken out of it, but you did give it a lot of justice with the black and white for I can see the depth in the foreground. Wonderful shot.

As lovely as this shot is, I do agree that it is indeed a pity to ever view a sunrise or sunset in black and white. But the contest calls for black and white, so..
Love the view, exposure, contrast and the fabulous Suns glow on the water.
Fine camera techs..Good Luck ;)

It is not easy to make a sunset look beautiful in black and white, but you did the trick. The light in the sky and the reflection looks fantastic among the many shades of gray of clouds, water and land in the background. The darker shades at the foliage in the foreground amplify the beauty of the sky which is further emphasized by the small tree curving into the photo and pointing toward the light. Best luck for the contest.
